UNIONS TO THE RESCUE

Money! It's no surprise that they're giving none away ...

Jack: So, by stating......"But people, who are sponsered by family members, and have jobs promised to them, should be able to enter without quotas.".....you are suggesting that family members who sponsor them can manage our immigration system without a government decision. Do you believe such a law or rule would ever pass muster?

In terms of citizen cost being smaller than we are led to believe, ask the citizens who can no longer go to a local hospital, closed because illegals have overwhelmed them?

Could you and I go to Mexico illegally and get the benefits that US illegals have.....get real.

Mexico has no incentive to improve their economy as long as they can encourage (and the government does encourage) their poorest to go North.

Ask the unemployed black inner city teenagers that you (and I) are concerned about if they like the competition....

Don't try to make me out to be a simpleton. I already stated that "No, an open border is NOT a consideration" - the govt should take each immigrant and decide if they fit the criteria as given. No, I don't think such a law/rule will pass - but then that would be a defeatist reason not to support it.

If the illegals can go to an overwhelmed hospital, so can our citizens. If illegals are dominating a locale, first go to the employers who are enabling them to do so.

You get real - Mexico isn't America, if it were, there would be no illegal immigration problem
.

That's pure BS! Mexico is making great strides in fast becoming a middle-class country. That means the lower classes have some upward mobility there. The same with China, but that doesn't stop shipping containers packed with illegal immigrants from arriving from there almost daily. The problem is a lot more complex, and can't be appreciated using American cultural standards.

Oh yeah, "the unemployed black inner city teenagers" are bent out of shape not being able to pluck chickens in Iowa, or work in the Chinese sweatshops for little to no pay, AS IF!

Your position is tantamount to an open border. There will always be a relative to drag an illegal acrtoss the border, not subject to "quotas" as you suggest.

I am not in any way suggesting you are a simpleton....your posts do it.

Jack: I apologize for my unusual rudeness. We can still schedule that beer summit someday.

Both are veterans - my father recently died at the age of 93, and my brother died soon after of stomach cancer.

Jack: My sincere sympathy. I'm sure your countless memories of your Dad and brother will grow richer to you and your family as time passes. I think of my Dad every day and I'm sure you will too.

Not only the days, but I also dream of them almost every night, both with memories long forgotten.

Jack, I am truly sorry to hear that you lost both your father and brother so close together. My Mom died in 1995 and my Dad died in July 1999, it was hard losing my Mom but I was surprised at how abandoned I felt when my Dad died. Losing a brother is painful beyond words, Mr. Glitterbags brother died at age 49 and the whole family was upended. I also have dreams of my parents and they are always younger and healthy when they appear in my dreams. I find it comforting.

We live about 90 minutes from Arlington.....if you think you are up to a visit we would be happy to drive down. However, laying loved ones to rest is exhausting so don't feel you have to do anything other than what you need to do. Please accept my family's condolences. JB
