What movies do you identify with?

... so are the days of our lives...
What fires you up?

What movies do you identify with?

I identify with "Under the Tuscan Sun" in which a woman's child like enthusiasm causes good things to happen.

I identify with George Clooney's character in "The Men that Stare at Goats" in which Clooney is the great psychic that is usually laughed at, but occasionally surprises himself and others with his mental feats.

I identify with Midnight Cowboy, not for the foolish hustler ideas he had, but because at that age, my brother and I hitch hiked a lot and got into many grim, bizarre or otherwise unusual situations.
I identify with M*A*S*H* and Catch 22, because they reflect my growing disenchantment with war.

I loved catch 22. That the army thought it was so great to have a major called major major (or was it major major major?) that they immediately promoted him to a major and never promoted him any higher. There was so much clever humor in that book! Catch 22 was what, if you tried to get out of the war because of insanity, then you weren't insane. It was true, wasn't it?

Perhaps I got it wrong, it's been decades since I read the book.

I can't recall, in the book, how many majors they managed to add to his name, which was originally Major Major Major. I was disappointed that the movie didn't give him more play.
I like Yosarian: "They're tring to kill me." It didn't help a bit when he was told they were trying to kill everybody. He would fly out and drop his bombs anywhere just so he could finish the run and hurry back to the base.

I like A Man For All Seasons, where the protagonist, once a close trusted friend to the king, is a man of very high position and power, (Lord Chancellor of England). The king, Henry VIII, leaned heavily upon the Chancellor for his cunning advice, and shrewd statesmanship. But the Chancellor's refusal to recognize the king as the head of the Church of England, leads to a test of wills of which neither will be broken.

Maybe I don't understand the question??????? Are we listing movies we "enjoyed" or "identified with" (I'm not sure if I ever completely identified with a movie but many times I have recognized the irony or paradox that is at play and enjoyed the hell out of that)

More than enjoyed. More than James Bond and the Pink Panther. Although perhaps I can identify with French police detective Jacques Clouseau. Ya, I can identify with Clouseau a little: clutzy, crazy, unusual, optimistic, and sometimes even brilliant.
