Benefits received via false documents is a felony around here. No benefits - he gets jail.

If an illegal pays a sales tax, over and over again, why shouldn't he/she gain a benefit ( such as unemployment comp) from that accumulated tax.

I just bought a new refrigerator and I paid more than $32 tax on it. If I were illegal, why shouldn't I get some sort of benefit from that tax?

The bottom line, is that illegals are getting nothing at all from their taxes except of course, "the joy of working".

Simple: Sales taxes do not pay for unemployment benefits.....employers pay a separate tax for that.

Maybe in your state, but all states?

FYI - most U.I. benefits are now paid by the feds. They don't tax anybody specifically for U.I.

I know you vehemently disagree with illegals having any rights at all, but that is not the law in this country.
If a person pays U.I. tax, as does his employer for him, just being an illegal does not break that contract.
The broken law is that the illegal misrepresented his true identity. The assumed identity did not break any law.
If the assumed identity entered into other contracts, they would be just as binding as if he used his true identity.
You can't be selective which contracts are binding and which are not, because it's the person that contracts -
not the identity.

And I know that you vehemently support the eventual granting of citizenship for those in the US illegaly. I do not believe it is proper to reward illegal behavior.

Lawyers argue and courts make judgments on whether a contract is binding every day. I doubt a contract entered into under false pretenses is binding.

Maybe, maybe not - one law does not fit all. Do you contest that?
Now, if a worker dutifully pays all required U.I. taxes; and his employer pays all his share of taxes for that employee - are you saying that worker does not have a rightful claim for benefits?

No, that is why we have courts.

No government benefits for illegals...PERIOD!

SOOoooo, every time someone gets, (or are now), unemployed, they have to go to some paper-pusher, and prove he is "legal", before any benefits are allowed, huh? What do you think the number of illegals getting unemployment, (which they paid for BTW) is, compared to the total number of unemployed? In other words, you want to pay for a bureaucracy to personally scan, face to face, some 35 million people, to weed out the illegals?
So much for smaller govt!

Sure.

It doesn't matter. One is too many.

Sure. I may be mistaken, but I think you have to apply for unemployment benefits in person anyway.

Sure. I bet you don't have a clue what would entail.

It doesn't matter. One is too many. And how many of million$ are you willing to spend to find that one?

You are mistaken. The state prefers you apply via the internet, the phone is still OK, but allowing crowds of unhappy and idle people, waiting for face-to-face small talk, and arguments with a clerk, is highly discouraged.

Personal politics is winning right now. If the Arizona law is flawed, is not the federal law as well? Is that why the enforcement has been so ineffective?

Ineffective enforcement? Gee, ya think the 20 million snuck in here just in the last eighteen months? :P

FYI - More illegals left this country than entered in the last 18 months - Look it up!
